Richard was with us in 2017 and 2020 telling us about his ‘Liberator’ project – in which he visits top South African wineries and ‘liberates’ a few barrels (or vats) of wine for his UK wine importing business, selling them as a series of never-to-be-repeated ‘episodes’. They are a very diverse selection, but share a strong sense of individuality and authenticity.
On those occasions we tasted Episodes 1-23, and now we have the chance to sample the 12 or so wines released since then. We will all learn a lot about the quirky reality of making and buying wine. Nibbles with the tasting will be followed by a supper of corn-fed chicken with summer mushrooms and asparagus; raspberry pavlova; coffee and chocolates.
