When is it best to drink this iconic California field blend, (predominantly Zinfandel), grown and produced by Ridge Vineyards for the last 50 years? We buy it annually and like to keep a few precious bottles back. So, tonight we are going to try the 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 1999. With dinner we will have a couple more wines from this fine producer.
Canapés with the tasting will be followed by:
Salt-baked beetroot with mozzarella and pickled walnut purée
Slow-braised beef rib with fondant potato, horseradish remoulade and winter vegetables
Passion fruit pudding with passion fruit ice cream
Coffee or tea with biscotti
Accompanied by more wines from Ridge Vineyards and other top California wineries
