AN INTRODUCTION TO RED BURGUNDY

Sun 30 April 23,  6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

WINE TASTING AND DINNER

AN INTRODUCTION TO RED BURGUNDY

Sunday 30th April, 6.30pm

Tutored by John Hoskins MW

NOW SOLD OUT – WAITING LIST ONLY

Do you know your Nuits-St-Georges from your Gevrey-Chambertin? This tasting will walk you through many of the most famous villages in Burgundy, explaining the key things to know about each, and how and why they differ.

As well as Nuits and Gevrey, we will also taste examples from Chambolle-Musigny, Pommard, Volnay and Chorey Les Beaune amongst others, finishing with a couple of mature examples to show how Pinot Noir ages.

Red Burgundy is a wonderful wine style. The only downside is that there is never enough to satisfy worldwide demand, so prices are incredibly expensive. No apologies, then, for the relatively affordable cost of this event!

A series of canapés with the tasting will be followed by:

Slow-roast shoulder of lamb with spring vegetables

Steamed ginger pudding with clotted cream vanilla ice cream

Coffee or tea with chocolate truffles

Served with more red Burgundy, of course

£95 per person
